Summary The project arised from the identification of the new emerging professional of ‘technical consultant for sustainability’.The existing gap of such consultants, training of trainers able to cater for this new employment niche seems to be a suitable way of preventing the existing imbalance between supply and demand.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND IMPACT:
1. The Project established the state of art in order to define the initial situation in the fields of sustainability, labour market, quality of existing teaching materials, possibility of transfer as well as the identification of the most suitable innovations in order to identify those that better suit the existing needs of the labour market.
2. The Project developed a training handbook according to the transferred contents for its adaptation to the national system of vocational training, given its interest for continuous and vocational training.
3. The Project developed reference teaching materials suitable for international training of trainers in the field of sustainability.
4.- The project adapted, modeled and tested the transferred methodology and materials using innovative training tools through expert training of 60 learners engaged in 4 pilot training actions held in 4 different Member States in-person modes, and over 400 learners engaged in an e-learning training action implemented internationally as a joint learning experience.
5. The Project defined a new professional profile (professional family, units of competence breakdown, professional environment and related training) by means of international expert cooperation between 5 countries as a proactive strategy intended to anticipate the training needs deriving from the emerging professional profile of technical consultant for sustainability.
6. The Project promoted the development and valorisation of the project’s outcomes at local, regional, national and European scales in the field of continuous and vocational training through the cooperation of 4 well-positioned, reputed partners involved in national systems of vocational training, and experienced in international cooperation.
7. The Project introduced a cross-cutting approach in support of gender equality.
9. The Project disseminated outcomes at a large scale and by target groups, with an impact higher than 2,500 individuals.
Four expert vocational-training institutions with expertise in cross-cutting areas (Ifor-net, Agroinstitut, Athena, Aegeas) and 3 technological partners (Enviroment Park, Ifor-net and Patrimonio Natural de Castilla y León).
The project was structured in 6 working packages
WP1 project management: activities undertaken were signing the contractual agreements between the beneficiary and the National Agency and between beneficiary and all the Partners.
All the administrative and communication procedures were approved at the 1st international consortium meeting. At this meeting also were constituted 3 Committees (Monitoring, Technical and Dissemination) with representatives from all the Partners.
A communication Protocol was approved in January 2013 and a Quality Monitoring Control was presented both for the Interim Report and te Final Report.
WP2: The main activity of WP2 was the adaptation and transferring of methodology developed in other European project (H2 training) and other experiences and best practices to create the “sustainability technician” profile.
In this WP was also developed an Hypothesis of adaptation of H2 training methodology together with Best Practices, mainly the system of Australia, approved at the 2nd international consortium meeting. The technical Committee also developed a Gender mainstreaming Guide for sustainability technician profile; the “Sustainability Technician” Curriculum; and a Guide on innovation and new technologies used for training and education.
An e-learning platform was created being available at the website of the project
WP3: selection of beneficiaries for pilot actions
Criteria for the selection of participants in the pilot actions (face to face) were developed and approved to guarantee the gender equality.
WP4: training pilot actions. 60 participants were involved in face to face training actions and more of 400 in e-learning action.
WP5: benchmarking and networking: the main activity of this WP was drafting of a “State of The Art” report. Each Partner has developed a National State of the Art Report, identifying experiences and best practices in training activities related to sustainability and environment in their own country. Also experiences and best practices from other countries from the EU or third countries have been identified for the report.
All the information provided by Partners was processed in a consolidated State of The Art report.
An international observatory "Go Sustainable" was created to involve trainers and educators in environmental sustainability training issues in order to share knowledge, experiences and information. This network uses twitter and Facebook for working. and is expected to continue after the Project´s end.
WP6: dissemination. The main activity has been creating the project website http://www.ldvassure.eu with general information of the project and their objectives as part of the Lifelong Learning Programme, information of the Partners and their activities, a specific area for dissemination news, and access to the e-learning platform. The website is available in the 5 Partners national languages and also in English.
A digital brochure of the project has also been developed and it is available at the project website.
The key (public) documents of the Project (brochure included) are available in 6 languages in the news section of the wesite.
