Marketing Text The aim of the project is to increase the employability of 12 unemployed, graduated agricultural students improving their agribusiness competences. Each project participant spent two months in foreign (Spanish, Italian, and UK) agri-food enterprises and learned about production process but also about marketing and management activities.
Annually at the Faculties of Agriculture in Zagreb and in Osijek graduates about 250-300 students. Many of these students have problems with their employment after graduation often due to lack of experience in the real business environment. Our educational system does not encourage enough students to make internship in companies during their studies. Therefore, the competence of graduates are often insufficient for active participation in the labor market.
The aim of this project is practical business training of 12 unemployed graduates of Agricultural faculties in Zagreb and Osijek, who completed their study in the last 3 years. Professional training is conducted in foreign companies of agribusiness sector in their departments of marketing, purchase, sales, finance. The internships is organized in three EU countries: Italy, Spain and Great Britain. During the internships project participants learnd about specific business issues and ways to solve them.
Knowledge and skills acquired during the two-month stay in foreign companies increased the competence of project participants, and increased their employability in the domestic labour market. Training in the international environment contributed to the development of linguistic and multicultural competence of the participants and allowed comparison of participants' experiences in different countries and different business environment.
