Das Projekt stellt ein Set von Lehr- und Lernmaterialen zu 3 Kursen bereit,
welche (1) Lehrkräfte motiviert, sich auf ihre Zielgruppe einzustellen (2)
Menschen mit Lernschwierigkeiten unterstützt und (3) den Aufbau eines
"Social enterprise" fördert.
SET4Work (Social Enterprise Training for Work) has addressed issues of increasing levels of unemployment for people facing difficulties in accessing training and/or the labour market, and who are likely to be less attractive to potential employers in the current financial climate. The project has made learning employability skills more accessible for people not used to learning.
The target groups include people with disabilities, unemployed youth, people with mild learning difficulties and mental illness and students.
The aim was to transfer and improve the tested training material SET4Work, a Business start-up course based on a social enterprise ethos, which provides alternative ways of learning within traditional learning centres and/or via an e-Learning portal, in order to train and support people in the development of soft skills and work preparation skills.
To promote the transfer and recognition of achievable competencies within the UK and across Europe, using ECVET principles and instruments.
The objectives were to:
1. Share, adapt and improve the existing materials to local partner contexts
2. Improve the recognition of the learning outcomes of this course by using ECVET, EQAVET and EQF principles and guidelines linked to national VET structures
3. Create a website that includes the e-learning platform of the course and is flexible to the access needs of participants and trainers
4. Test the adopted learning materials (direct training and e-Learning platform) by training 20 trainers and training 120 beneficiaries within the duration of the project
5. Provide a high quality of the project results by internal and external evaluation (internal for project management and external for unbiased and relevant on-going reference) and
6. Disseminate the project results within the participating countries and wider audiences to enable organisations that support employability initiatives to focus more on this target group and to supply better attitudes and resources for it.
All participating partners have an already very well existing network with national VET stakeholders and provide the needed experience to successfully implement the project.
Expected outcomes of the project:
1. New approaches, behavioral changes towards employment within the main target group - unemployed people with
difficulties - will be introduced and adapted. The course will enable these persons to access (further) vocational
education and training and/or the first labour market.
2. Including e-learning will help to reach persons that live in small cities and rural regions as well. It will bring the VET
institutions closer to the implementation of new media in their learning settings.
3. The course will have an influence on the trainers and VET stakeholders concerning their attitude and resources to focus
and support this target group in the right way.
4. By understanding and implementing ECVET, the transparency concerning learning outcomes, the quality of VET, the
quantity of ECVET-partnerships and with this permeability and mobility will be increased.
On a long term base the project will affect about 800 beneficiaries, 200 teachers, 100 VET stakeholders as well as 200 companies.

The project has created three key products:
1. A Training for Trainers Course designed for Trainers to look holistically at their trainees, considering why trainees furthest away from learning need a different approach. This is backed up by
2. A series of engagement tools aimed specifically towards people who do not learn in traditional ways. These tools have been created by target group beneficiaries and are therefore attractive and relevant. Providing engagement tools is not that helpful if there is no follow up and so
3. Is Business start up course based on a Social Enterprise Business model that includes a social context and promotes team working so that people can share skills to make a new business achievable and sustainable.
The Business start up course is also available online, with each partner creating their own access and monitoring systems.
The products started as informal 'soft' learning sessions and have developed into quality courses that can be matched against national vocational courses and EQF and ECVET principles and practice.
The project has been a great success despite major challenges brought about because each partner has very different client groups, social enterprise is at different stages of development, and vocational courses and ECVET are at different places. Despite this all partners have developed the courses to reflect their local needs and intend to continue to use the products i the future.
