Marketing Text The Working Futures – Meeting the European Challenge project was developed in order to facilitate vocational students’ incorporation into the European labour market and, at the same time, make them more aware of the importance of language learning as an essential tool in multicultural working environments. Personal growth, autonomy and problem-solving skills were also key aspects to the project.
Summary This project allowed a set of ten students from courses in the areas of Tourism and Informatics Management to do work training in companies in Finland and Sweden, which contributed to increase the students' skills and qualifications. In addition, participation in this project allowed the participants to develop language, cultural and communication skills. It was also highly relevant that the participants demonstrated a better understanding of what it means to be a European citizen, recognizing simultaneously the importance of preparing for a job, not only at local and national level, but even more so at a transnational level. This was one of the key facets to the personal development of participants, since for the majority of vocational students in general the labour market is still very limited to the region in which they live.
