Title TIKCI: DES OUTILS POUR AMÉLIORER LA CLÉ COMPÉTENCES DES INSTRUCTEURS
Project Number 2011-1-ES1-LEO05-35887
Confebask is the organization that represents and defends the general and common interests of Basque businesses.
One of its strategic objective is the quantitative and qualitative adequacy between the training supply and the demand of the productive system, and this is the reason because it makes a firm commitment with the formation. An initial survey about Vocational Training in Europe came into being the project of Shared Vocational Training. Since then Confebask has worked actively in the processes of Training in Workplaces.
Counting on an own methodology it has developed several tools that have worked out as a support for educational centers and companies that are involved in practices and the methodology becomes a referent, even nationwide.
In the quest to improve Vocational Training there are two European projects promoted by Leonardo da Vinci, Textel and Proyect, in which Confebask had participated and in which the figure of the instructor were analyzed in depth.
In Europe we have this situation:
The EU has developed various analysis in recent years about the figure of the trainer and among them we have to note EUROTRAINER, conducted by the ITB of Germany.
Between the main findings is highlighted the growing importance of key competencies and most trainers lack thereof. Apparently this is linked to lack of lifelong learning and train opportunities for the trainers and the lack of knowledge and access to innovative training methods.
Therefore we believe that the self-assessment tool for instructors of Confebask can be the starting point to help improving that situation and with its transfer we are going to work to lay the basis of the trainers identity.
The different features of the partnership and the fact that the instructor plays different rol, depending on the country we refer to, strengthens the European value of this project.
Our project was conducted under the following guidelines:
In the first phase we established the map of key competencies based on the self-assessment tool that we are going to transfer; we choose the most appropriate model of portfolio that allows trainers to measure their qualification in key competencies. After we tested the portfolio, in base of the results we obtained, we established the self-study courses that promote the acquisition of key skills previously identified as a weakness.
When the trainers tested the courses we looked for measures to certificate the acquired skills.
The project promotes the lifelong learning, the self-learning and the use of TICs to facilitate the training. After the validation of the tools, it is available and will be used by a long series of trainers of any educational process that requires practice.
These tools aim to promote and improve the effectiveness of education and it is reasonable to consider that it will benefit many people from different geographic areas.
Tangible indicators measured the impact under a management plan.
TIKCI, "Tools to Improve the Key Competences of Instructor", within the European program Leonardo da Vinci, was a project of transfer of innovation for two years (October 2011- September 2013) whose main objective was:
Contribute to the Development and improvement of the key competences of instructors.
For this purpose five European partners (Confebask, KPEDU, SPI, HRDC and BDA) who make up the work-team, had developed a work plan from an initial self-learning tool of Confebask, the project coordinator. Initially this tool had allowed the instructors to measure their skill level and consider adjustments.
During the project the partners had established a work plan whose main results were: a map of key competences of instructors, a portfolio that allows them to analyze their level of competence and different tools for self-education, to improve those skills which had been detected more deficiencies. In the last phase of TIKCI the partners tried to find ways for such training and these core competencies were certified.
The work plan established for TIKCI project development was structured into 9 WP:
1)Management of the project
2)Portfolio as a tool for determining the map of key competencies of trainers in companies
3)Testing of portfolio
4)Definition and desing of self-learning courses for the acquisition of key competencies
5)Development of technological support
6)Testing of new self-learning courses
7)Adjustments and plan of accreditation.
9)Monitoring and evaluation
