Marketing Text The SME 2.0 project transfers the comprehensive methodology – the innovation of the LdV project SMELearning – into a proactive networking of European SMEs, in which they will be able to utilize the business potential of the newest web 2.0 and networking technology offered by the digital age.
Small and Medium Enterprises are acknowledged all over the world as the drivers of economic growth. The “Small Business Act” for Europe reflects the Commission's political objective to recognize the role of SMEs in the European economy.
During the last years the new networking technology (based on Open Source web 2.0 applications) offers effective tools for SMEs, to gear up their professional and business activities from the productive teamwork up to effective online marketing. However the delivery of this knowledge should be more effective by using the networking tools the content is talking about, by establishing an environment for “learning by doing”.
SME 2.0 consortium will establish online training for European Small and Medium Enterprises based on the transferred methodology from SMELearning LdV project (www.smelearning.eu ), with strong focus on the special characteristics and needs of the SMEs.
Target groups: managers, employees, owners of European SMEs, teachers and trainers of VET, e-learning providers, policy makers. Our vision is to reach the target group directly involving them into this collaboration. The target country is Hungary, but the results will be utilized in all partner countries.
The representatives of the donor projects (DEIS–IE) is the member of the consortium. In the partnership 10 partners from 4 countries (HU, IT, IE, UK) demonstrate the synergy needed to take the maximum of the transfer of innovation. The consortium covers all the methodological, pedagogical, technological competencies for establishing a sustainable e-learning solution.
The project would contribute to the general and specific objectives of LLL programme, to the LdV priorities by creating a sustainable community of practice of SMSs in order they should create successful business management motorized always by the newest information and communication technology.

The results of the project will be:
- SME 2.0 Multilingual Open Learning Platform based on “learning by doing” methods.
- eLearning course for SMEs that enables them to utilize the open source web 2.0 applications in their business management. Four e-learning modules (Information and knowledge management, Project management, Online marketing, Human resource management) for developing their advanced digital competencies in practice oriented approach.
- Proactive Networking Platform of European SMEs which supports a heavy collaboration and knowledge sharing among the managers and employees of SME. PNE will help them to recognize the business potential of the newest open source web based tools, and establish a space for a business oriented community of practice (CoP).
