PRO CARING project tested the implementation of ECVET in VET in the fields of child care and elderly care. The partner countries were Finland, Estonia, Italy and the Netherlands.
The project increased the knowledge of Educational System between partner countries. Understanding of the structure and content of the study programmes in the field of caring is essential for future cooperation.
Summary European creditsystem for Vocational Education and Training is spreading among Europe. There are new skills to be learned, new language to adopt and totally new work tasks and new professions to build up. European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) is one tool to make these changes easier for a student. It enables students to choose more individual learning pathways to reach their qualification.
The aims and objectives of the project:PRO CARING addressed the increasing mobility in field of caring in Europe.
Tangible outcomes: The partner institutions created units for child and eldery care fields. The students' studies and experiences were recognized as part of her/his qualification.
Impact: This project implemented usage of tools (MoU and LA) to enable more individual choices for a student to accumulate studies into qualification. With this project the European Credit System for VET is more known and the project eased the implementation of ECVET in the partner countries.

The partner countries created units for students who will have their placement abroad. The content of units = learning outcomes are be described as Knowledge, Skills and Competence following the EQF levels. All the products of the project are freely available on the project website www.procaring.fi.
31 students from partner countries tested the units in one partner country abroad. Students individual learning pathways and experiences are described in the PROCARING booklet. The documents developed in earlier projects (Evoc, Finecvet)- Memorandum of Understanding, Learning Agreement, assessment forms - are the ones used in a project.
