Product Type others
At the overall aim of enabling an ECVET process in the sector of nature-based and rural tourism, this report shows the results of the activities of work package 2 aimed to:
- carry out a detailed survey, in each participating Country, of professional figures operating in nature-based and rural tourism;
- classify the noticed figures in relation to EQF (giving them a reference in relation to the national classificatory systems);
- define an European common perimeter in the concerned professional field, to identify the professional figure/s on whom the project will focus and activate the ECVET process; the individuation of this qualification perimeter was focussed on EQF level 5 or lower, to ensure, in compliance with the LLP LdV rules, that the project concerns only the field of vocational education and training (VET), and not formal higher education and vocational education and training at tertiary level.
Description This report on preparatory analysis and researches is containing: a detailed outline of the different professional figures in nature-based and rural tourism in the VET systems of the tourism sector, detected in all participating Countries; the classification of all these professional figures within EQF via national qualifications frameworks and systems; a common European perimeter of these professional figures, limited to EQF level 5 or lower, on which we have implemented ECVET.
Target group Enterprises, social partners, non profit associations, VET providers, workers and trainees in the sector of nature-based tourism across Europe, regional and national public institutions having competence on tourism and on VET.
The main result showed by this report report is constitued by the definition of an "European common perimeter" of professional figures on which the project has activated the ECVET process. The professional field defined by this perimeter is composed by the following 12 professional figures:
in Italy and particularly in Umbria region, the Hiking guide with eventual horse trial, speleological, bicycle touring specialisations, the Competences system needed to carry out environmental education for sustainability, and the Didactical Farm Operator; in Germany, the Certified Nature and Landscape Guide, and the Hiking Guide and Trainer-C Hiking; in Austria, the Outdoor trainer – pedagogue, the Tourist guide, and the Organic farmer; in Latvia, the Tourist Guide - Tourism Organizer - Organizer of excursions; in Spain, the Nature tourist guide, the Specialist physical and sports activities in the natural environment, and the Hospitality management in rural guest houses.
Area of application The area of application is constitued, in territorial terms, by the countries participating to the project (Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Latvia, and Belgium) and, in sectoral and professional terms, by the people included in the European common professional perimeter of figures in nature-based and rural tourism, identified in a shared way by the partners across VET systems of participating countries during WP 2 activities.
