Le but du projet KBB-Trans est de transférer le cours de formation sur le thème du transfert de technologie à d’autres partenaires en Europe. Le projet KBB a été développé pour lancer les activités de transfert de technologie dans la région compris entre Styrie /Autriche et Slovénie au fin de donner aux parties concernées la méthodologie pour la formation sur le transfert de technologie et pour travailler sur des projets pilots dans les entreprises.
Le cours de formation concernant le transfert de technologie se composes de modules suivants qui doivent être transférés : model de transfert technologique, model d’affaires, procès de changement, gestion de technologie, transfert de connaissances, financements (UE+national), DPI + matières légales (UE+national), dissémination des produits & services, marché de technologie
Technology transfer means that new know-how, new technologies and innovations from research institutions are transferred to and integrated by commercial enterprises. This happens when for example Universities or Universities of Applied Sciences develop new and specific innovative solutions for enterprises and these enterprises integrate these new solutions into their daily business. By doing that, enterprises - and here especially SMEs - can raise their competitiveness through the enhancement of their innovation capacity. For the research institutions this means the implementation of new technologies and know-how in order to meet their costumers needs and the creation of viable products. This means both partners have to work in an area of conflict: to combine the competing interests between the scientific approach of experts and scientists on the one hand with the applicable and viable approach of entrepreneurs and their employees on the other hand.
The project KBB-trans aimed at distributing the technology transfer training program also in other European partner countries. The carrying out of a professional and standardized technology transfer in all partner countries (namely in Hungary, Italy, Belgium, Germany and the UK) was thus be ensured through the common training of technology transfer trainers (train-the-trainer).
In the project, an analysis of existing technology transfer trainings in all the participating countries was carried out, serving as a basis for the development of country specific training programs. In a next step, technology transfer experts were trained by responsible trainers, so that they will be able to carry out training programs for new technology transfer trainers in their own country.
The KBB Trans project started on the first of October 2011 and finished at the end of September 2013.
The lead partner and coordinator of the project was the University of Applied Sciences Styria FH JOANNEUM GmbH.

The aim of the project KBB Trans was to transfer the training course on the topic technology transfer to other partners in Europe. Transferring meant, that each partner attended a train-the-trainer course on the KBB technology training course and each partner carried out this course also in the country where the partner is coming from. The technology transfer training course was developed under the frame the KBB project. The KBB project has been developed to boost the activities of technology transfer in the region between Styria/Austria and Slovenia in order to provide the relevant stakeholders with the methodology for technology transfer training and to work on pilot projects in companies in the border-region.

The main product of the project KBB Trans was to transfer a training course on technology transfer which was consisting on the following modules:
Module technology transfer models
This module covered the analysis of the knowledge transfer system and its framework, academia-industry collaboration, stakeholder analysis of the transfer system, knowledge transfer processes in general, technology transfer process models, obstacles and hindrances in the transfer processes, supporting factors and resistances in the transfer processes, technology transfer as service innovation, feasibility studies and business cases in technology transfer project
Module business models
The main topic covered in this module is the explanation of business models. The participants of the course had to know exactly what they are needed for. Other topics covered are the 7C Model to describe business models, deriving a successful competitive strategy based on a company’s business model, monitoring and controlling the implementation success via the balanced scorecard model.
Module change process
This module handled the following topics: dynamic organisational development; constructivism in organizational development & leadership; systemic way of consulting; methods of process consulting; overview of phases of a change process.
Module technology management
To work with new technology participants had to know about technology assessment, technology evolvement, disruptive technological changes, technology adoption, technology management, technology foresight activities, technology scanning, scouting and hunting, technology calendars, trees and roadmaps, technological trajectories, internal and external technology marketing, risk management & technology management.
Module knowledge transfer
The knowledge about basics of knowledge management and knowledge transfer, knowledge transfer phenomena, knowledge sourcing, knowledge transfer processes & innovation processes is essential for technology transfer facilitators. Therefore this module handled this topic and shows the participants how to use that knowledge for upcoming projects.
Module product& service dissemination
The following topics were covered in this module: basics of marketing & marketing mix; basics in public relations & information design; basics of internal marketing; use of multipliers in change communication; use of new media in communication.
Module Market& Technology alignment
This module described the role of business models within current technology competition, provides a strategic framework for business modelling and describes the design of key elements of a business model, namely the value proposition, the revenue mechanism and the design of a value network.
Module EU- and national IPR´s
Knowledge about legal aspects of technology transfer, especially in the field of intellectual property right is fundamental. The module focused on intellectual property right in the context of patents (utility models), designs, trademarks and copy rights in Europe.
Module EU-funding programmes
In this module an overview on existing funding programmes on innovation and technology transfer in Europe was given. Furthermore each partner worked out also national funding programmes on technology transfer.
