Title SOLARIS PLUS - Innovative modular training as the specialist for renewable energies
Project Number DE/11/LLP-LdV/TOI/147 422
Project Type Transfer of Innovation
A project for the international dissemination of educational content on renewable energy
The energy supply is changing. Against the background of climate change and rising energy demand of the development of renewable energy sources is a future-oriented necessity. The observance of the climate protection targets and energy efficiency criteria and the development of renewable energy sources are therefore functions of international importance. However, this development also attracts a need for properly trained specialists with them - and not only in Germany.
The solaris PLUS project has therefore set itself the target to transfer in Germany proven training concepts in the field of renewable energies in the training practice of European partner countries.
The project solarisPLUS has contributed to the development of new professional skills in the field of renewable energies and to promote cooperation between VET and the labor market.
Specific project objectives were:
- Transfer in DE proven training concepts and practices in the field of renewable energies;
Were incorporated development, adaptation and translation of 9 basic modules (building physics , climate relevance of the current energy, solar energy, photovoltaic, solar thermal, heat pumps, biomass, wind energy and hydropower), the modified depending on a curriculum for initial vocational education and training, further vocational education and retraining;
- Development of comparable units of learning outcomes ECVET according to the sector " Renewable Energies " ;
- Completion of ECVET partnerships means "Memorandum of Understanding "
- Execution of test phases in the partner countries ,
- Execution of a multiplier training in DE for 2 coaches per partner country , which then in turn trained every 10 multipliers in their countries;
- Further development of the experimental device system (in short: EGS) as an innovative teaching and learning resources ;
- Accreditation of the developed curricula and modules in Saxony, Saxony -Anhalt and Brandenburg as well as in the partner countries ;
- Establishment of a cooperation network of vocational training in the field of energy / environmental technology in the partner countries with active involvement of relevant ministries and National Agencies , training and education providers , SMEs and local authorities as well as their association at European level;
- Implementation of the project results in the VET systems of all partner countries .
The execution of the workshop "New directions in vocational education and training", attending career fairs and WorldSkills 2013 in Leipzig have stakeholders and the public, but also beneficiaries of the project objectives sensitized and motivated to participate actively.
The cooperation in the project was designed to understand and transparent for all partners. The project management developed a coordination and management plan that represents all substantive, organizational, temporal, spatial and financial aspects and assigns responsibility. The coordination and management plan broke the project down into its project parts or specific duties and set relationships and interfaces between the various project elements, creating an. All partners contributed almost equally to the success of the project in by were responsible for or supported parts of the project. Specifically, these were:
P0 - head of the work packages " transfer of innovation , adaptation, translation " and " quality assurance"
P2 - head of the work packages "Coordination and Management", " cooperation networks " and " dissemination and exploitation " and leader of the work package "Introduction and application of ECVET principles "
P3 - leader of the work package " development of the experimental device system " as well as accreditation of the custom modules and curricula in Slovakia
P4 - organization and carrying out of the test phase in Slovakia
P5 - leader of the work package " communications , public relations , lobbying, " as well as accreditation of the custom modules and curricula in Hungary
P6 - organization and carrying out of the test phase in Hungary
P7 - leader of the work package " accreditation " as well as organizing and conducting the test phase in Romania
P8 - Accreditation of the custom modules and curricula in Romania
P9 - leader of the work package " testing " as well as organizing and conducting the test phase in Bulgaria
P10 - Accreditation of the custom modules and curricula in Bulgaria.
On the basis of the Coordination and Management Plan, a comprehensive schedule was drawn up, defining milestones and thus also guaranteed a regular project monitoring. The project partners took responsibility for specific tasks in the project, who contributed in their entirety to the realization and successful implementation of solaris plus. In key tasks that affected the entire project team in their implementation – Sample: Public Relations in the project, accreditation, etc. - the responsible package manager was supported by all partners.
In order to promote the common knowledge transfer and exchange, a communication platform was established, which was used to exchange all documents. The Google Drive was the possibility of exchanging large amounts of data and the processing of documents within the partnership. The meetings were conducted as planned: start, middle and final meeting in Germany and one meeting in every country of the partnership. Another communication were Skype meetings which would disclose the current status monthly or more during the second half of the project. This medium was assessed by most partners as helpful and for the management, it was a further possibility of contacts with the partners and the assurance of keeping appointments and legwork.
The work packages were structured as follows ::
1) Project coordination and management
2) communication, public relations, lobbying
3) Transfer of Innovation, adaptation, translation
4) implementation and use of ECVET principles
5) cooperation networks
8) Development of Experimental Apparatus system
9) Quality Assurance
10) Dissemination and exploitation of project results.

SolarisPLUS has successful concepts and practices of vocational education and training in the field of renewable energy, including transfer of teaching and learning materials in Germany. These concepts form the basis for comparable units of learning outcomes according to ECVET in the Renewable Energy sector. We have developed three curricula (for initial vocational education and training, further vocational education and retraining) in the field of renewable energies and tested in the countries accredited and implemented.
The experimental device system was expanded to include experiments on wind energy. The tasks and solution sheets were prepared and translated. Some kits were assembled during the testing phase at the school partners. Thus, the kit can be used as a teaching tool in all partner countries.
