Title Gender Mainstreaming Concept for IT Education
Project Number A/03/B/F/PP-158.018
Product Type program or curricula
The GemCITE Manual is teh result of the GemCITE Partnership. Its aim is to support organisations of adult education in cases of improvement of quality within IT vocational training as a contribution towards the goal of equality of men and women.
Based on initial identification of all interfaces in the education systems where gender gaps could develop, comprehensive data collection was carried out in all partner states, in which actors from all spheres are questioned on their practices in the context of gender equality.
On the basis of this data collection and with reference to the published results of existing projects and experiences from their own educational practices, the concept of a GemCITE handbook has been developed that checks all interfaces of the appearance of "gender gaps" for possibilities for structural implementation of equal rights.
The present handbook is a synopsis of all input and reports from the partner countries that have been channelled into a unified flow as a result of content editing by the Frauenservice project promoter.
It is designed as a reference work for the reorganization of all sub-process steps from educational work and offers an abundance of TIPs and TOOLs for better comprehension and consolidation of the equalization strategies presented.
