So called active learning methods are attractive to female students because they provide a link with professional practice (context rich learning method).

The ACTION tool measures the quality of education and supplies improvement possibilities which include gender awareness.
The diagnostic tool consists of a number of checklists. For each indicator mentioned, a number of conditions and checkpoints are given that determine the extent to which the indicator is present in the educational programme. Per checkpoint, a score is given on relevance to and presence of in the curriculum. Based on these scores, one can determine whether the condition requires further elaboration or improvement.
The diagnostic tool is used step-by-step. The steps are explained detailed in the manual. The indicators from the diagnostic tool are the basis for measuring
