Title NetKnowing 2.0: Enabling SMEs to use Web 2.0 and networking to acquire and generate informal learning
Project Number 2010-1-ES1-LEO05-21054
Project Type Projets de transfert d'innovation
The aim of NetKnowing 2.0 is to help small and medium European enterprises and orgaqnziations to turn daily tasks into a source of corporate informal learning for all employees, thus enabling the integration of lifelong learning with normal work practices and provide an opportunity for companies to build their own formative learning resources.
Net Knowing 2.0 is focused on the development, test and dissemination of a didactical package to enable managers and supervisory staff of SMEs to utilize Web 2.0 technologies, Networking and e-Collaboration as an instrument for their own personal learning and to support corporate informal learning systems in their enterprises.
The Net Knowing 2.0 project aims to enable entrepreneurs, managers and supervisory staff of European SMEs and organizations:
1. To use Web 2.0. technologies and net collaborative practices to obtain informal learning.
2. To learn how to put in place sustainable informal learning strategies in their companies that are based on knowledge sharing supported by Web 2.0 and net collaborative practices.
According the latest survey of the the Observatory of European SMEs (2007), the lack of skills is an important barrier to their innovation and sustainability. But smaller entrepreneurs, directive staff and decisions makers of SME don’t use to participate in training courses. The ENSR study (EC 2003) shows that small enterprises have a big preference for informal training. But this is regarded not really as “learning”, but a part of their job or a way to solve efficiently the daily tasks. Thanks to Web 2.0 Technologies and Net Collaborative Practices, these activities and information can be transformed and shared in structured informal learning systems to contribute to the knowledge development of SMEs.
Net Knowing 2.0 project aims to enable and to raise de awareness of entrepreneurs, managers and directive staff of European SMEs to apply Web 2.0. technologies, net collaborative practices and socio-professional networks -like Communities of practices- as a support to implement structured informal learning strategies and systems in their companies, based on knowledge sharing and information interchange. It will be based on the transfer of the results of SIMPEL - IMPROVING eLEARNING PRACTICES IN SMEs project (2006-2008), that have developed and validated sustainable models of e-learning in SMEs. It has been supported by EU eLearning Program.
Net Knowing 2.0. will develop, test and disseminate a didactical package that will consist in: a self-learning basic course focused on learning by Web 2.0 and networking collaborative practices; an e-learning upper level course focused on the implementation of Web 2.0 structured informal learning systems and strategies in SMEs; an e-learning Web 2.0. suite including a training Web 2.0. toolkit; the design of 2 modular formative SME workshops; a Virtual Community of Practice to support and coach SMEs implementing 2.0 informal learning systems and Lifelong Learning strategies. A website, an electronic bulletin, and product’s brochure will be developed as dissemination products and a international seminar and national workshops will be organized.
