Marketing Text One of the project objectives was to develop a curriculum, based on ECVET criteria (European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training). The ESTO curriculum covers the most important aspects of knowledge about traditional orchards in fields of pomology, their management and care and processing and marketing of their products. The curriculum is offered to interested organisations/institutions on vocational, university and adult education level. The ambition of the project was to raise exiting qualifications in field of traditional orcharding to a uniform level agreed by European experts.
-ESTO modular curriculum with an emphasis on innovative teaching/training methods to be used in the teaching/training practice
-The curriculum is available as a web-based curriculum on www.esto-project.eu
-The curriculum is elaborated on the basis of ECVET criteria (European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training)
-The curriculum is available in EN and translated into five languages of the participating countries.
-The curriculum was tested in pilot ’Orchard Schools‘ and afterwards offered to interested educational organisations/institutions
-Starting the integration of the curriculum into the national educational systems of partner countries in order to harmonize educational aspects on national level
- Teachers/trainer and students of vocational schools, universities and adult education institutions from the agricultural, horticultural, environmental and education sectors
- Professionals in the agricultural, horticultural, environmental and education sectors, employees of institutions and organisations dealing with agriculture, environment, nature preservation, healthy nutrition and education issues
- Professionals from farmers’ associations, NGOs
In order to reach a sustainable use of the project the Competence Centres in participating countries have been established. Competence Centres contribute to sustaining the national networks', advise and link traditional orchard stakeholders at regional levels. Competence Centres are providing the curriculum and other project results in participating countries.
Result The curriculum was developed according the ECVET methodology. The translation, visual design and presentation of the curriculum on the ESTO web-page are the final steps of the development of the curriculum. The visual design was worked out for all project results (teaching material, expert texts) in a unified way in order to produce an attractive and user-friendly project products.
