The Public Part of Progress Report has been published to provide all the interested public with a general overview on the project aims, the progress of activities as well as on the plans for the future.
The first year of project activities has been crucial for the so called “scientific activity” which leads the URBIS Consortium towards the results on the state of the art related to urban security, safety and crisis management.
Stakeholders representing governments, local authorities, scientists and practitioners, actively took part within the investigation whose results confirmed the need for a mutual recognition of competences, skills and knowledge to be included within a common training framework.
Qualitative approaches have been planned within the project to achieve the final qualification and significant EU Networks (EFUS, EUCPN, ESC) have been also involved to support both the research and the dissemination of findings.
Major information are however included in the Report.
This report details the mid-stage progress and developments for the Leonardo da
Vinci project Urban Manager for Security Safety and Crisis Management (URBIS).
In particular it describes the main project objectives and expected results, it shows the methodologies adopted for achieving the goals, including benefits for and involvement of target groups. Internal cooperation and external cooperation as well as impact on EU policies are also major part of the report.

The Progress Report serves as a mean of information on activities carried out and planned.
It enhances the dissemination of the project and the visibility of the Consortium and of actors involved during the implementation of activities.
