Marketing Text 3T Portfolio / Teams and Talents in the Third sector: a Collective Competence Portfolio Approach
The project is to adapt the competence (e)Portfolio approach so it can be used by teams of workers, thereby reinforcing the adaptational capacities of organisations in the social economy sector.
The activities of those working in the social economy sector are part of a socially-oriented service economy, marked by the need to adapt to new demands and new constraints (public tender procedures, for example), while continuing to play a pioneer rôle in the emergence and consolidation of new services (such as lifestyle and home-care services).
Setting in motion an organisation’s potential to evolve and to redeploy its activities requires a new « orchestration » of all the skills and competences involved, both on an individual and collective level.
The competence portfolio approach, as it is usually deployed on an individual level, is a powerful tool for promoting experience as capital, and for shedding light on a person’s competences and potential. Adapted to be used in collective contexts, the ïmpact of this approach will extend to domains such as the organisation’s global mission, the directions in which it could develop, its acknowledgment of the professionalism of its employees, articulating each one’s position such that it evolves with the organisation’s adaptation to changes in its environment.
Main activities undertaken during the 3TPortfolio project:
- conduction of Collective Competence Portfolio pilot workshops for teams working within the Social Economy sector
- development of a group-setting methodology to conduct Collective Competence Portfolio workshops: workshop pedagogical scenario, material for counsellors conducting the workshops
- development of pedagogical supports for participants and counsellors combining paper-based and web-based resources: (e)Portfolio guide for participants, guide presenting collaborative e-tools to build collective e-Portfolios

Conducted within teams working in the Social Economy sector, the objective of these workshops are to draw a map of the knowledge and talent of the team involved.
They will focus on two main parts:
The elaboration of a Competence Portfolio at an individual level, enabling each team member to valorise her/his vocational and personal path, to identify her/his competences, to illustrate these competences and to show them.
The elaboration of a Competence Portfolio at a collective level based on the projects and the goals of the organisation and the inputs made on a voluntary basis by each team member.
The exploitation of Collective Competence Portfolio should enable new types of cooperation within a team, enhance work cohesion and more widely could bring up new possibilities.
For the organisations, the benefits should be the ability to show a team’s competences and the value of the collective’s expertise, and to develop new offers in response to social needs
