Marketing Text This publication is a guide that gives support in the conception and the conduct of collective Competence Portfolio workshops. It offers an approach that helps teams in their process to build and develop skills from individual to team building and empowerment.
This guide provides facilitators and counsellors with the necessary material to conduct Competence Portfolio workshops for teams: the lines of work that constitute the Competence Portfolio approach and a selection of corresponding pedagogical resources.
It offers practical resources around pedagogical issues to organise and to conduct step by step a Collective Competence Portfolio workshop.
This guide is intended for the persons who wish to undertake a Collective Competence Portfolio process, as counsellor or facilitator, or as a participant.
The term “counsellor” designates a person in charge of setting up and conducting a Collective Competence Portfolio workshop in an organisation she/he does not belonging to. For instance, this can be the case when the Collective Competence Portfolio process is implemented as an action of the organisation’s training programme that is provided by an external training or consulting organization.
The term “facilitator” refers to a person who is a member of the team undertaking a Collective Competence Portfolio process and who is in charge of setting up and conducting it. This can occur when a group of people working together collectively decide to implement the process and name a member of this group to facilitate the workshop sessions.
This guide offers 5 lines of work:
- Setting-up the framework
- Highlights of experiences in the history (individual or collective)
- Scrutinizing and analysing collectively experiences in terms of competences
- Preparing the communication: writing up and shaping a selection of elements relevant
to illustrate and demonstrate some of the competences
- Sharing or publishing some of the outcomes: presentations within the group / communication to external bodies
Area of application The project aimed at adapting the competence (e)Portfolio approach in order for it to be used by teams working in the Third sector. The approach’s objective is to reinforce the Third sector organisations’ capacities of adaptation.
