Project Type Transfer of Innovation
Country CZ-Czech Republic
Project „Learn to become your own boss“ reflects the fact that the most of individuals who start ventures, particularly in technology-oriented sectors, do not do so until they are in their mid- to late-thirties. Research studies present that the preferred career of a considerable number of graduates is towards business ownership. Surveys reveal that 46% of graduates consider a business of one’s own’ an excellent way to get ahead. But, only 7% of graduates start own business immediately after graduation (only 3 from 10 survive) while 80% of graduates start own business in their thirties, e.g. 10 years after graduation. This group of potential entrepreneurs is the main target group of the project.
To bridge the difficulties resides in continual education. need to look for specialised courses and/or start with the self-study. Theoretical knowledge increases the possibility for the potential entrepreneurs to make proper decisions when they encounter different situations on the market.
Significant part (63%) of emerging companies is founded by persons of age of 30 or more. These persons have practical experience but obsolete knowledge. This result in a 30% failure rate of these companies connected with untimely termination of life cycle of businesses. The aim is to increase the viability, competitiveness and dynamics of these enterprises. To meet this aim it is necessary to update the obsolete knowledge of new entrepreneurs with an emphasis on new trends. It is necessary to streamline the process of setting up new businesses and to provide emerging business opportunities. All with an emphasis on the motivation of entrepreneurs to increase their vocational training and competencies with purpose to stay on the market.
This will be achieved by increasing the new entrepreneurs key components of the qualifications. Transfer of innovations, information and knowledge will be mediated through book, web application with eLearning courses and teaching texts. Topics of newly produced courses were chosen on the basis of special investigation:
Enterprises start-ups (legislative).
Efficiency in enterprise – measurement, criteria, risks.
Enterprise in bio environment (bio food, other bio commodities, wastes).
Opportunities in the field of renewable resources.
Services for aging population.
GIS - Geographic information systems (precise agriculture, transportation, security, entrepreneurial networking).
After studying selected themes and passing the test, the student receives a certificate of partial qualification.
Opportunity to improve their knowledge, competencies and skills will be provided to interested persons due to the strengthening of cooperation between European actors in the field of vocational training.
