In this project sixteen students in the 11th grade were involved. Students are in their initial vocational training at "Gheorghe Lazar" Vocational School from Pecica and they are training in order to become furniture and indoor arrangements technician- designers in the 3rd level of qualifications. The placement was an integrating part of the training programme of the students. The themes and the activities that the students developed in the furniture factory Vega System Meble from Wraclaw permitted the development of the participants’ professional competencies, according to the Romanian Training Standards( SPP) in the framework of competencies unit "Furniture making", in a European environment.
The period of the mobility was 21.03.2011-17.04.2011 ( four weeks).
The objectives of the project were :
01. To help the Romanian participants to gain work experience in a European environment, experience which is connected to their study domain, meaning the making of furniture, in order to be able to easily integrate on the labour market.
02. To improve the personal competencies such as : the communicative competencies and the cooperation in working relationships, enlarging the cultural knowledge and the cultural horizon, in order to raise their ability to adapt to a new environment and life in another country.
03. To encourage the participants to accept the idea of moving places for training and working purposes within the European Union, as a perspective for finding a better job.
04. To establish a network of international communication between the Romanian training institutions and European companies and to develop a mutual trust and their cooperation within European Community.
The results of the project are reflected in the 16 participants’ level of competencies and practical abilities they gained and in the raise of number of those who will easily move from school life to the labour market; this number will be influenced by the professional competencies certificates that the participants obtained at the end of their mobility , both by their theoretical and practical training. The students and the teacher who accompanied them wrote an auxiliary book for all the students and teachers working and learning in the same domain.
The school also developed a strong partnership with the host company and the project team of the school are writing another project for other students with the same qualification.
