Marketing Text Dieses Projekt bemüht sich gemeinsame sowie länderspezifische Kompetenzen zu definieren. Kompetenzen, die für die Ausbildungen Koch, Kellner, Hotelrezeptionist und wenn möglich auch Hotelmanager in den 8 teilnehmenden Ländern gelten. Der Zweck ist eine Einführung der ECVET anzubahnen als ein Mittel zu Vergleich von Lehrplänen für berufliche Ausbildungen über die nationalen Grenzen in der Europäischen Union.
The focus of the partnership (9 partners) is to influence the direction of European VET (Vocational Education and Training) concerning the Hospitality industry by involving participants from all levels of a student’s education: teachers, school principals, local/national education officials and industry leaders. The purpose of this is to gender a greater understanding for the need to harmonise the different educational standards in Europe so as to promote a greater mobilisation of the skilled workforce in Europe. Another issue which needs to be addressed is the falling status of vocational jobs in the hotel trade (research indicates that this will accelerate towards 2020) despite the fact that tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in Europe. How shall this be tackled in the future?
The idea is to arrange a series of short internships of one week’s duration for the participants in order to learn how our European counterparts tackle the challenge of imparting VET students with international competencies as basis for work and education nationally as well as abroad as well as comparing educational systems.
All partners will meet in Cyprus to plan an international conference and also to make a rough draft of the different ECVET for the industry. This rough draft will be the basis for discussions/workshops at the conference.
The project will be concluded with an international workshop conference which examines ECVET for Hotel Management, Reception, Restaurant and Kitchen. The results from the conference will provide the basis for making a european certificate accepted by the trade throughout europe.
One of the main aims of the Leonardo Da Vinci projects is to promote the transparency and recognition of competences and qualifications to facilitate the mobility of the european workforce. The major challenge to this is the diversity of educational structures and qualifications in the hospitality industry which lacks a reciprocal recognition throughout europe.
A method to increase a flow of competant workers is to equipe them with a certificate which recognises the qualifications achieved as well as the competances specially required for a particular country. To this end it is necessary that there is a concensus as to the content, duration, depth and type of competences required for a particular position.
For this consensus to take place it is necessary to gather an appropriate number of partners to examine firstly the different structures and thereafter to assimilate and compare to be able to reach the parts that can be agreed on. When this is achieved then the work of comparing the contents of an education can start which will hopefully result in a basis for a genuine european qualification agreable to all.
Another aim or priority is the attractiveness of the hospitality industry in the future and the needs of the industry.
The argument for including everybody from teacher to industry to goverment official is that to reach any kind of understanding then communication is paramount. Visiting different countries will enable acommunication between peers in order to accept a recognition for the need to create a greater acceptance of the competances and qualifications of the european workforce to achieve a greater mobility.
