Marketing Text The QUAVETS project focused on how work-based and institution-based training and education contributed to the development of 'the skilled worker' in four vocational sectors, and identified the key characteristics that applied across the six partner nations.
Summary The QUAVETS project aimed to support improvements in quality in vocational education and training and build bridges between providers of education. The partnership researched the differences in education systems between the six partner countries; compared National Qualification Frameworks, qualifications and job competencies; and investigated the concept of quality of education and training in four programme sectors: Construction; Tourism; Health & Social Care and Food & Hospitality. The project studied the contribution made by work-based and institution-based training and education to the development of key competencies of 'the skilled worker' in the four vocational sectors. As part of the research the views of students, teachers, workplace supervisors and employers were considered (through the use of questionnaires).
