The project focuses on the pedagogical aspects of the‘brave new world’ of eLearning. The starting point is the further training of the teachers who are currently facing changes which alter their work environment. Their work will be transformed from that of the classic “lecturer” to the “facilitator” of virtual learning processes. They will be expected to master the technically and pedagogically skilful development of multimedia learning and teaching materials. Their role as moderator of network-based teamwork and leader of virtual project teams will gain in significance.
The pilot project has been subdivided into three phases:
Phase One (duration: 6 months): the areas of activity and the roles and responsibilities of an e-tutor
e-learning methodology within the context of vocational and resource-based pedagogy
Phase Two (duration : 10 months): development of acurriculum (content and methodology) for the qualification of “e-tutor”;
development of interactive components, capable of online delivery, for various pilot units.
Phase Three (duration: 8 months),
trial run of a selected model unit;
potential improvements identified in the course of the trial run will be implemented.
