Title EUROPEAN AGROTOURISM VOCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT AND QUALITY CERTIFICATION
Project Number 2009-1-GR1-LEO 05-01857
Project Type Transfer of Innovation
The project www.atnq.eu is established under the EU Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo Da Vinci Transfer of Innovation and is set to deliver a new standard in agrotourism, the EUAN – European Agrotourism Norm, and trustworthy validation awarding the “European Agrotourism Badge” – EUAB to pilot selected enterprises.
The new standard is based upon common quality characteristics and principles of European agrotourism which were identified and incorporated in a purposely built software by the LdV pilot project AgroTourNet www.agrotour.net (CY/06/B/F/PP), through the study of exemplar agrotourism enterprises of the participated countries. The data is enriched by the atn-Q project, with market standards developed by agrotourism associations in their aim to protect and promote the integrity of the vocation.
The project "ATN-Quality" (European Agrotourism Vocational Empowerment and Quality Certification) concerns the transfer of the VET system "AgroTourNet e-learning software" developed by the LdV pilot project AgroTourNet (www.agrotour.net) and the inclusion of the quality standards developed by the agrotourism entrepreneurs for protecting and promoting the vocational integrity of the sector.
The project’s outcomes include:
(a) A vocational training system based on common quality characteristics of European agrotourism, and
(b) A trustworthy validation system awarding the “European Agrotourism Badge” utilizing the grass root developed regional practices and the philosophy of EQF for cross-regional vocational transparency.
The project is undertaken by a coherent consortium consisting of organisations with relevant orientation from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Lithuania and the Netherlands. Τhe applicant coordinator Enosi Agrotourismou Ionion Nison (Agrotourism Union of Ionian Islands) and the associated partner Syndesmos Enoseon Agrotourismou Ellados (Greek Association of Agrotourism Unions) will empower the evolution and valorise the outcomes of the project. The Greek Standards Organisation (ELOT) utilises quality data developed by entrepreneur associations as well as genuine sustainability standards to create the European Agrotourism Quality Standard (EUAN). The aim is to empower the agrotourism enterprise through validation of their status, to qualify for display of the European Agrotourism Badge (EUAB). Amalgama enhances the existing software databases and develop the appropriate web-based validation tools for supporting the project evolution. Trisys coordinates the activities and assures compliance with the documentation and the project deliverable. The European core partners, representing mostly networks and professional associations in their countries, will secure the participation of the main agrotourism stakeholders in national workshops for identifying the regional agrotourism quality standards and will valorise the European Agrotourism Badge in their regions.
The project will deliver the following outcomes:
1. AgroTourNet VET e-learning system enhanced to include the Italian language
2. The European Agrotourism Quality Standard (EUAN)
3. Validation procedures for the European Agrotourism Badge (EUAB)
4. Website focusing on the European Agrotourism Quality Standard
5. On line validation tool guiding the potential EUAB applicant / enterprise.
6. Web based distance training for EUAB inspector training
The agrotourism stakeholders involved in the project are expected to act as multipliers for deepening and enlarging the application of the European Agrotourism Badge to other regions of the participating countries.
The project AgroTourNet Quality is established under the EU Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo Da Vinci Transfer of Innovation. It is set to generate the European Agrotourism Standard (EUAN) incorporating the functionality of the “AgroTourNet e-learning software” which was developed by the LdV pilot project AgroTourNet www.agrotour.net (CY/06/B/F/PP).
The EUAN qualification values are based upon common quality characteristics of European agrotourism as presented in the AgroTourNet curriculum. The data is enriched with quality standards developed by agrotourism entrepreneurs in their aim to protect and promote the integrity of their vocation.
The project is set to deliver a trustworthy certification system awarding the “European Agrotourism Badge” - EUAB
The certification procedure for the award of EUAB is synergistic to the vocational empowerment of the staff at qualifying agrotourism enterprises. It improves the service standards of agrotourism market and accentuates the EQF philosophy for vocational transparency
The project is undertaken by a coherent consortium consisting of organisations with relevant orientation from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Italy, The Netherlands, Lithuania and France.
