Marketing Text TOT to FCO is made up of 3 modules and 3 guidebooks. The programme aims at developing instructors technical and teaching skills, competences and knowledge for successful delivery of TOT to FCO to ensure a significant impact on the target group (instructors and/or drivers). Available in the 4 languages of the project (French - English - Spanish - Polish).
The technical module lies at the heart of TOT to FCO and is based on the European Directive 2003/59/EC.
It contains the three subjects set out in the directive:
- advanced training in rational driving based on safety regulations
- application of regulations
- health, road and environmental safety, service, logistics
One of the requirements of the directrive is that all professional truck drivers must complete 35 hours of periodic training every five years, in periods of seven hours or more. FCO or the obligatory periodic training allows drivers to keep up-to-date with an ever changing haulage industry, in terms of vehicles' technical characteristics and components, European regulations governing the carriage of goods, road safety and road environment, optimisation of fuel consumption, driver's health, wellbeing and driver's responsibilities, awareness of the risks of the road and of accidents at work. It outlines the level of knowledge drivers should reach (indirect target) and practical competence necessary to drive in all safety heavy goods vehicles.
Target group Instructors are the direct target group as the module is part of a "Training of Trainer" programme. They must have and develop technical knowledge, skills and competences enabling them to deliver the module to Drivers of category C vehicles, the indirect group.
Result The 437 slides of the module are available on the project platform to be used by the partners in their own structures.
Area of application First aimed at our partners in Poland and Spain, the module is now being extended at EU level and beyond to a large group of public and private stakeholders in the area of road transport via the IRU platform.
