Title PEOPLE-School of skills-Job training area
Project Number 2010-1-IT1-LEO05-01022
Project Type Transfer of Innovation
Marketing Text The project was created in order to spread, in the countries, the commitment to give back, to people with disabilities, an active role in the society. Particularly in countries where disabled people are more easily brought into the workplace and / or entertainment for disabled people. The project starts from the assumption that societies can be considered civil only if in their internal they are able to stimulate and strengthen coexistence among all citizens, whether they are of different ethnicities and / or in different physical and / or mental situations.
Summary The project transferred methods and innovative approaches directly from ” La Scuola Competenze”, created in Sardinia in order to aid people with mild cognitive deficits and potentially able to enter the labor market. The project action has gone beyond the traditional training and focused on disability as a resource full of potential. The primary objective was to enable beneficiaries, through educational, flexible and experience orientated programmes, to enter into professional settings. Working inclusion was the undisputed key factor of the project, enlightening the programmes and representing the focal point. Beneficiaries participated in educational paths even after or in parallel with working inclusion. “La Scuola delle Competenze” through the mediation of the operators represented the link between beneficiaries and the reality of local businesses, offering itself as central driving force of a sustainable, economic development. Innovation and quality of interventions has been guaranteed through continual processes of monitoring and reviewing, which allowed the programmes to develop alongside the beneficiaries. Additional objectives of the project were implemented by the awareness of the territories involved and of the reality of local businesses, so that the work integration of disabled people would be conceived as an opportunity and not as a constraint. The creation of institutional networks based on a common approach to education plus the significant experience of partnership complete such valuable actions of awareness-raising. The strength of the partnership has been guaranteed through consolidated synergy and through high professionalism demonstrated in both the training and social-labour inclusion fields (ISFOR API, CESPIM, API Puglia, CSAPI), the presence of a lively and active institutional body (Municipality of Sykies) and the participation of a foundation that operates in a dynamic and effective way in favour of the disabled (ÖZEV). The experience of the partners further guaranteed the reliability of management, funding and ethics. In terms of tangible results, therefore, the project supported people with disabilities outside of a “controlled” environment such as that of the family making them an active part of society and not mere consumers of services. The project actions have had a positive impact even by different stakeholders enabled in the project and in particular enterprises, public institutions operating at national and local level.
Description The project aimed to 1) transfer methodological, innovative and effective approaches aimed at facilitating the entry into the labour market of the disabled people in the region of Puglia, in Greece and Turkey; methodological approaches already tested by Isfor Api in the School of Skills, activated in Nuoro; 2) activate a process of awareness on the issue subject of transfer, 3) create and strengthen a network of partner organizations, local institutions and organizations which on various levels could and may contribute to potential integrated actions, to share know-how and optimize future interventions, plan joint actions to ensure the sustainability of the project and strengthen actions so that the disabled have an active social role through work. The joint project was as follows: October 2010, the Italian partners met in Rome at the CESPIM Head Office, for a meeting aimed at sharing the organizational aspects, timing and work methods and the preparation of the website. In this meeting we will test and develop a network model between local institutions and between them and the organizations working in partner countries. The aim was to pool the know-how and optimize future interventions, to plan joint initiatives to ensure sustainability of the project through the integrated management of projects and future plans.
