Title E-learning version 2 - MHP training on the MindHealth website
Product Type modules
The Training for Mental Health Promotion website is fully operational and contains many resources relating to mental health promotion. News, events and useful links are also provided and are continuously updated by project partners.
This website hosts the final version of the MindHealth e-Learning programme, specifically dealing with Mental Health Promotion in three settings.
The course is divided into 4 areas: the Common Training Programme and a training programme each for the School, Workplace and Older People’s Settings.
Registration with the website is free and permits access to the MindHealth online e-learning training modules. Additionally, by registering on this website the user becomes a member of the European Network for Mental Health Promotion (ENMHP). Through this portal, members also have access to two other MHP related projects hosted on this site; MHP handbooks (MHP Hands) and ProMenPol.
The Common Module includes learning material on mental health promotion that can be applied in any setting, e.g. General Principles of Managing or Co-ordinating mental health promotion or individually focused interventions. In each of the setting specific programmes, the material relates to that particular setting. The trainee is advised to begin with the modules in the Common Training programme, before embarking on the material that is setting specific, in order to develop his/her knowledge of MHP in general. This enables the trainee to cover all of the issues needed and to obtain a fuller understanding of what needs to be done in any given setting.
At the end of the modules, summaries of the topics are provided and recommended readings and resources are also offered. The layout of the website is attractive, and graphics break up the text so that readers can move quickly through the course without becoming overwhelmed by blocks of text. The topics of each module are arranged in such a way that the text appears concise and easy to read. It is also simple to scroll between the topics of the modules and to move onto the next section following completion of a module. In order to keep track of what the trainee has read, one can indicate that the topic/module has been read and this is signalled by a red tick on the module. This enables the trainee to return to the course at another time if he/she prefers not to complete the course in one sitting.
