Area of application
The main objective of this product as well and the accompanied results (R7, R11) is to improve the existing training programs for both, GPs and teachers in family medicine and their competencies in the field of QI.
The materials were tested and evaluated in Prague in October 2012 on the group of 21 participants. After that, on the light of the feedback received from the course attendees, the final version of the product R11 was developed (R11 was tested and used in developing R6). Thanks to that, the training materials can be used in various contexts at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and also for individual learning. Since this result has an universal character it is possible to adapted it to the GPs educational programme in partner countries, but it can be also transferred to other EU countries. It may ensure not only broadening of the training courses offer, but also improve its contents and attractiveness. This product may ensure GPs from a whole Europe opportunities for vocational advancement.
In such a way, these course materials aimed at educators in participating countries may prepare them to use the basic structure of the course in future in their own country, adapting it to the country-specific requirements for the teaching process and level of development of family medicine teaching. Users should also be connected with a teaching institution to ensure the sustainability of the project in the longer term. On completion of the course materials content they should be able to provide teacher-training courses to family medicine teachers in their own country, and should be able to develop a training program, as well.
It is expected that the VET course materials may have a direct and essential impact on the national vocational training (specialization and CME) in family medicine in Poland as well as in the other partner countries. In general, R6 promotes a coherent, innovative and international approach to education in the field of QI. It may produce more competent FM teachers than materials and courses that are based on usual educational methods. This Result is a valuable training not only for FM teachers but also for GPs/FM doctors. It may motivate them to be self directed and responsible for learning activities.
