Marketing Text European Strategy is focusing on themes like environment work conditions and stress related activities trying to improve workers labour conditions. In 2002 the European Agency of Health and Safety at Work devote a campaign to work related stress with the slogan "working on stress". As so, the implementation of this project will help companies from all avoer Europe to fulfill these requirements. The fact of the web based tool will be available in 5 languages, guarantee their use will be susceptible of transference beyond all Europe Citizens.
Summary This project main idea was to use the results of SPA "Stress Prevention Activities" Project and a Risk Assessment tool called WEST "Work Environment Screening Tool", combine them and put it in a more friendly environment, via web, for employers, employees and occupational physicians and technicians and VET students.
The web environment created has 3 major entrances: 1st entrance that permit the user to play a little quiz game to check the level of stress that the user/trainee is exposed to; a 2nd entrance address the user to a Stress Risk Assessment Tool, where the trainee can insert company data and understand the stress risk that the company has and then try change eventual risks towards improved health and increased productivity, having access to a list of prioritized improvement actions and stress reduction measures to be implemented; and a 3rd entrance that has a content repository concerning the project main subject that is STRESS and Work Environment Conditions where trainees can have access and learn more about it.
By making use of quiz games and giving access to easy-to-use tools, apprenticeship becomes a more dynamic and involving process, improving performance in professional activities and increasing learning results. When professionals learn through interactive user systems, their comprehension and retention is superior to the usual learning practices. Because the project has been done in cooperation with five European institutions, the products are available in: Portuguese, English, Greek, Swedish, Finish and Spanish. With this project we have contributed to a Europe of Knowledge through the development of a space of collaboration in the training area promoting the lifelong learning and the acquisition of knowledge’s and skills to enhance the competitiveness of the companies and their workers. The project has also
supported the creation of an information society to all, by promoting the training and exchanging knowledge in the European space.
All the partners of the project have complemented themselves perfectly to fit the proposal needs and therefore, have had clearly assigned roles.
The consortium was made up of 5 partners: 1 ICT company; 3 R D Institutions; 1 Consultancy Company for the Textile Association in Greece. The consortium was thus ideally balanced in terms of industrial organizations and research institutions. The equilibrium of the partnership has allowed a focused, market-oriented technology development, based on critical scientific knowledge. The consortium has combined competencies in ICT development, competencies in the definition of the pedagogical curricular skills, competencies in the contents that are being transfer and institutions that can disseminate the project results to companies and end users.
One international workshop was organised in Portugal and three information sesions in Finland, Greece and Spain where the stress issue was fully explained and also the project results.
One IPR and Exploitation Agreement was signed.
More than 5000 companies informed about the project and its results by mailing and emailing and more than 10.000 companies and institutions informed about the project.
