Marketing Text L'objectif principal de TRAIN est de transférer, d'adapter et de développer un programme de formation sur le tas pour les travailleurs des soins à travers la formation en apprentissage.Impact à court terme: la croissance de motivation pour l'étude, en particulier dans le secteur des soins de santé, les impacts à long terme: la croissance de travailleurs qualifiés et professionnels des soins. Les principaux groupes d'intérêt anticipé: l'enseignement des écoles de santé offrant des soins et les employeurs du secteur des soins de santé.Les groupes cibles: personnes qui travaillent déjà dans le secteur des soins de santé sans diplôme, les adultes, les personnes intéressées par le recyclage, les chômeurs et les personnes, qui sont une menace d'être au chômage.1: se familiariser avec l'innovation et l'étude du programme en apprentissage pour les travailleurs des soins; 2: pour transférer et d'adapter l'innovation à l'Estonie/Lituanie; 3: pour mettre en œuvre le programme d'études en Estonie.
Due to growing need for health care professionals and the ageing of the population in Europe, new Europe-wide training programs are needed.
The main goal of the project is to enable more people to acquire professional vocational health care education to answer to needs of tomorrow. To achieve this aim, the Finnish apprenticeship training program for care workers is transferred, adapted, tested and developed in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The existing curriculum is developed to match the current need for developing a competence-based curriculum.
“Apprenticeship training is an optional way of achieving vocational qualification, a further vocational qualification or a specialist qualification, and provides the trainee with the same access to further training as schools and institutions do. There are also, in some cases, tailor-made training programs for a specific job, which does not aim at any official qualification. Apprenticeship training primarily consists of on-the-job training. The apprentices learn through work, spending approximately 70-80 % of their training time in the workplace. Theoretical training is provided in vocational institutions. If for some reason theoretical training cannot be provided in an institution, the employer at the work place may arrange it elsewhere, for example. In practice, theoretical training is usually given in the form of course periods lasting from one day to a few weeks. Duration is very flexible depending on the apprentice’s prior education and work experience. Apprenticeship training, which aims at a vocational qualification, takes from two to three years. The partners in the project are mainly vocational health care schools/colleges and the institutions. The schools and colleges have vast experience in education care workers for the institutions.
The main aim of the project is to transfer, adapt and develop a on-the-job training program for care workers through apprenticeship training. The objectives of the project are to enhance the quality of the workforce in health care and to make the profession more attractive and also to motivate people to life long learning.
This project is directly involved in developing the quality and attractiveness of VET systems and practices by the transfer of the new and innovative method of study to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It makes it possible for more people to obtain a high quality education while working at the same time. The system has been very successful in Finland and thus it is seen to be of interest in other countries also.
This pilot project also exploits the results of the previous ESF project "Implementation of work-linked training programmes in Estonian VET system", which was the the follow up project of the Phare 2002 pilot project Development of work-linked training programmes and network in the North-East, South and islands regions in Estonia. (ref. http://www.innove.ee/en/?p=2&op=page&pID=140) Thanks to the former project, there are guidelines and a bill draft for on-the-job training in Estonia. The project stressed other professions than the health care sector. The same documentation and guidelines are needed for the health care sector education in Estonia, and also in Latvia and Lithuania.
The target groups of the project are new graduates, adults, people interested in retraining, people already working in the health care sector without a diploma, unemployed people and people, who are in a threat to be unemployed. The short-term impact on them is the growth of motivation for studying, especially in the health care sector and the long-term impacts are the growth of skilled and professional caree workers in health care institutions.

Product information The main product of the project is the new developed study module/program for care workers. It will consist mainly of on-the job training. The project website is a strong support for the project by being a main source of information (materials, downloads etc.) for the project partners and other interest groups.
