Title Arbeitsrotation hebt lebenslange Lernen fϋr den Landwirtschaftsbereich- AGROTATE
Project Number 2009-1-GR1-LEO 05-01839
Project Type Innovationstransfer
Life long learning and unemployment know no frontiers. Farmers, regardless the country they live and work, have similar needs for upgrading their skills and limited free time to participate in traditional training courses. On the other hand job seekers across Europe require training which address real market needs and a sustainable job position in order to overcome the uncertainty of the current economical crisis.
Filling that gap in the agricultural sector, Agrotate project intents:
- to promote the job rotation e-service by giving the ability to farmers to further educate themselves or their employees, replacing them with suitable trained unemployed people,
- to fight the long-term unemployment by training unemployed in real farms’ production procedures and enabling them this way to access labour market,
- to reduce the gap between the demanded and offered qualifications in the agricultural sector,
- to boost the productivity of the participating farms by supporting the adoption of new business models and organisational structures, and
- to increase the availability of e-learning services for the agricultural sector.
And last but not least, the Agrotate project aims to further validate European markets for the possibility of making the job rotation e-platform a standard e-service.
Agrotate a transfer of innovation project, has customized and transfered a job rotation e-platform to the agricultural sector of more countries, adapting the services provided to their special needs.
This job rotation e-service platform compares the needs of each farm with the qualifications of the unemployed people and suggest the best matches between them. The farms can easily submit their profile and their job rotation offers in order to find the most suitable unemployed to fulfil them.
The unemployed can choose the kind of farms they are interested to work at and their preferable working schedule. Also, they submit their current qualifications and skills. Following that, the system evaluates and matches all given information and suggests to the unemployed the most suitable to his/her profile & preferences job positions in farms that are published in the system by the participating farmers.
The e-learning courses that follow are tailor made for the agricultural sector and customized to the characteristics of the job rotation idea. More specifically, the unemployed can be trained in “Production and standardization of agriculture products”, a course that during the Agrotate project was customized to specific regional needs. Respectively, farmers can be trained in “Management of Agriculture companies”, a course that includes all the necessary topics a farmer needs for the organisation, operation and overall management of his/her businesses, and the effective marketing and distribution of his/her products.
Finally, taking into account the outputs of the project, the partners focused on the validation of the business model, the acceptance of the service and its viability under the different legal systems and the employment and training policies applied in the participating European Countries. Facts regarding operating costs and potential revenues of the service, public benefits and support in re-skilling, lifelong learning, fighting unemployment measures and actions, access & familiarity of target users with e-learning and legislation issues were also examined.
