Marketing Text This product is the innovation which the project seeks to transfer developed into a format that can be utilized in each partner country's, meets with VET and EQF requirements, has been modified according to the process detailed in the CEN Workshop Agreement and provides for the promotion of this framework to all parts of Europe, thereby enhancing the occupational mobility of the workforce.
There are two elements in this programme:
1. The proposed curriculum, which was developed as a result of an iterative process at project meetings, alongside the development of the CEN standards onto which it was essential that the programme mapped. As a result of the feedback on the standards, curricular changes were made accordingly
2. The pedagogical methods to be used in delivery of the proposed curriculum. Online surveys of partners undertaking specific educational exercises using different pedagogical methods within the adapted programme were undertaken. Pedagogy was determined on the basis of initial earlier consultation of the needs of partners and its educational appropriateness for the delivery of specific elements of the curriculum. For example, audiovisual material was essential for the health check and evaluation of diseases of the dog. Pedagogical method and theoretical content covered, are listed below :
The use of webinars to deliver training on theoretical foundations of guide dog training
The use of a face-to-face learning environment for the learning of practical skills relating to the training of the guide dog and use of mobility and orientation aids
The use of a directed study using online (the virtual dog - http://animallincs.studioview.co.uk/canine_anatomy/) and paper based resources for delivery of content on the anatomy, inherited diseases, and the health of the dog. These resources were developed specifically for the purposes of this programme.
The use of podcasting to deliver elements of theory relating to the training of dogs.
