Project Number 2010-1-ES1-LEO05-21000
Project Type Projets de transfert d'innovation
Marketing Text This TOI project aims to prevent and combat the stress of the road transport drivers and SME workers, creating a set of contents and activities addressed to these target groups, presented in a learning platform and adapetd for mobile learning.
The main objective of the project was to prevent and combat the work-related stress of the road transport drivers (freight and passengers) and SME workers in order to improve their health and the European roads safety, reducing the number of accidents caused by stress consequences in workers. This objective was accomplished by providing the target group with a set of training contents and activities that are presented in a learning platform and are available for mobile learning.
SPA ROAD is based on the Pilot project SPA-Stress Prevention Activities (EL/04/B/F/PP-148268). SPA-ROAD project transferred the training materials developed under SPA to create adequate contents for the road drivers according to their specific needs and work characteristics.
The partnership of this project is formed by 7 organisations from 6 different European countries.
Taking in account the feedback received from the stakeholders and members of the target group, it is possible to state that the SPA-ROAD project resulted into an increase of awareness regard work- related stress in the road transport. The SPA-ROAD project took a step forward in this field. At the same time, the project introduced the need to develop ICT competences. Most of the members of the target group were not users of ICT and technological methodologies as training opportunities. In this sense, SPA ROAD offered them a new perspective. It is also important to highlight that the improvement of competences of the target groups, also turned into positive benefits for the enterprises and the indirect beneficiaries. The project extended the catalogue of educational services and methods addressed to the road transport sector by promoting Web 2.0 environment as a good example of personal development. SPA ROAD represented an improvement in the quality of the professional competences of the target groups and consequently the beneficiaries of their work. The partnership also highlighted other specific aspects such as:
-The main impact was the availability of powerful tools to provide users with relevant contents about stress prevention. Trainers were very interested with the idea of having at their disposal training contents that could also feed their training.
It is all the more interesting that there are not any entire training dedicated to stress prevention in Transport.
-The project produced a good tool for training for stress prevention in transport sector. Drivers, managers and staff form SMEs and trainers in transport sector didn’t know much about stress. They didn’t have special material where to study it from as well. After the project, target group (and trainers as well) have a tool, which they can use for stress prevention in their everyday activities and lectures. In this way they will have more appropriate training materials for some subtitles relevant to DIRECTIVE 2003/59/EC.
- Target groups know how important is stress and their healthy conditions for traffic safe and load operations.
-The stakeholders were impressed by our materials and they told us that they will use them in their company or they will build some chapters into their stress management training and courses.
