Title Report on DigCurV stakeholder workshop
DigCurV is establishing a network to extend vocational training for digital curators in the library, archives, museums and cultural activities sector. The project addresses the availability of training for staff to develop the skills needed for the long-term management of digital collections which are being built up by cultural institutions. New jobs are emerging for digital curators but there is evidence of employers facing recruitment difficulties due to skills shortages, and of demand from staff and employers for vocational training to develop new skills in this field.
This workshop will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to give feedback on the draft curriculum proposed by DigCurV and on the findings of the baseline studies into existing training opportunities and training needs. The results of the workshop will inform the development of the initial curriculum for digital curation.
