Marketing Text This Report is presenting an Irish context of the selecting the Learning Platform solution. City of Dublin VEC, as the main project beneficiary, is the author of the Report, providing overview of experience in selecting the Learning Platform.
The first section begins with a background to the VLEs4VET Project, detailing the policy context, enabling structures within the CDVEC and the organisation’s previous participation in international ICT projects which subsequently led to the involvement in the VLEs4VET Project. The Project structures and roles of participating, advising and supporting organisations are explained
in detail in Section Two. The research underpinning the selection of Moodle as an appropriate Learning Platform for the CDVEC is described in Section Three. The development of VLE implementation guides and the pilot continuing professional development model
is investigated in Section Four. This section concludes with recommendations from mentors and participants in the four pilot colleges. Section Five provides a set of ten guidelines for VET organisations considering the introduction of new ICTs and gives a brief overview of future ICT/VLE related activities in the CDVEC.
Target group This publication will be of interest to VET organisations in Ireland and Europe considering the adoption of new ICTs.
