Title Glass Fusing Techniques with Wax moduls
Project Number DE/09/LLP-LdV/IVT/281453
Project Type Mobility - initial vocational training IVT
Individual Participation Not possible
In 2010 students and teachers of Berufskolleg Glas Keramik Gestaltung in Rheinbach worked together with their partners of the vocational college Stredni Umeleckoprumyslova Skola Slarska (Czech Republic) on a project on wax fusing procedures (Leonardo).
The students of the vocational college of glass technology and glass decoration thus gained skills and knowledge which enable them to meet the growing demands of glass objects and in their future jobs.
In situations and activities going far beyond a regional or national concern they all had the chance to plan an object, to work it out by forming moulds and finally fusing the objects in glass.
Besides the international cooperation with their partners from the Czech Republic gave the students a better understanding of their common European cultural heritage and the vocational traditions. Various excursions and lessons in English helped to intensify the mutual understanding and cooperation of the students of both vocational colleges.
As a documentation of their additional vocational mobility and activity the students were given the Europass.
Participants are Berufskolleg Glas Keramik Gestaltung des Landes NRW, Germany; Stredni Umeleckoprumyslova Skola Slarska, Czech Republic
Students are trainees as glass decorators (vocational college of glass decoration and technology) in their second year
Aims are to make the trainees of glass decoration of Berufskolleg Rheinbach profit from the high professional standard of their Czech partner school concerning wax melting processes. They get to know new technologies and methods which might be relevant for their future vocational life.
