In the next future every house will be identified by its energy performance level and its greenhouse gas emission by an “Energy Identity Certificate”. One of the main information of the Certificate will be the “EP” index of the building.
The Project outcomes has been developed to a give information about how to increase the energy performance of the buildings, in addition to introducing renewable energy applications in buildings.
Main outcomes of the project are further training modules in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy applications.
Mainly targeting technical teachers, training modules also aims large mass of professionals from electricity, installation and construction sector.
The definition of “EP” is at the basis of the sustainable energy policy of the buildings, and it’s simply the total primary annual energy consumption of the house divided by the building usage area. Its value is expressed in (kWh/m2).
Then in the next future every house will be identified by its energy performance level and its greenhouse gas emission by an “Energy Identity Certificate”. One of the main information of the Certificate will be the “EP” index of the building.
It’s interesting to notice that Turkey and Europe have already adopted the same standard to calculate the “Energy Identity Certificate” which is complying the standard EN 15217.
So, it’s very important to understand the real meaning of the EP index as it represents the first step to check and eventually improve the energy performance level of existing building, or, to check the energy performance level of new building during the design procedure.
The various training modules subjects are related to the knowledge about:
The national regulation about the energy performance of the building;
The sustainable design criteria for high energy performance building;
The energy saving approach applied to the buildings;
The energy saving by heating and cooling system optimization;
The renewable energy production applied to the buildings;
The Energy Identity certification.
Following 14 modules have been developed in Turkish and English.
Besides, module 14 and summaries of others have been gathered in a module book in Spanish, Italian and Romanian.

GROUP 1 – Basic knowledge about national and international energy policy and laws
The first group is presenting the international and national energy policy related to building and the role of renewable energy as it can give a significant contribution to increase the energy performance and reduce the energy consumption from oil and gas.
An important subject is related to the energy performance of the building and the “energy identity certificate”. The modules highlight the opportunity to reduce the waste of energy consumption and how the various countries have adopted measures to increase the energy performance of the building and the production of energy by renewable systems.
The issue is connected to environment as the wide consumption of not renewable energy has negative consequences on the climate because of the greenhouse gas emission.

Module 2 LAWS AND REGULATIONS FOR NEW AND EXISTING BUILDINGS
GROUP 2 – Energy performance building design - information and basic rules to improve the efficiency of the building and reduce the waste of energy
This group of modules is related to the technical design criteria to have good energy performance for new and existing building. The main subject is related to the thermal energy consumption and to the insulation of the buildings as it generally represents the most part of the energy consumption of the building

GROUP 3 - Knowledge about human comfort - design concept of sustainable and low emission building
This group, which refers to a single module and is related to basic knowledge of human comfort and to design criteria focusing to two objectives: design of a sustainable and low carbon emission building.
Module 8 INTERIOR CONDITIONS OF BUILDINGS
GROUP 4 - How to save energy: save electricity by efficient use and optimizing heating and cooling system of the buildings
This group is focused to present various system to reduce the waste of energy, to better perform the use of the electricity and, the most important, is discussing how to increase the efficiency trough the heating and cooling system.
Module 9 EFFICIENT USE OF ELECTRICITY ENERGY IN BUILDINGS

GROUP 5 - Design of renewable system to actively produce energy
This group is presenting two important technologies to produce renewable energy to be consumed directly from the building: the solar thermal collector and photovoltaic system. Some other basic knowledge about alternative and efficient system are also discussed.

GROUP 6 – Energy performance level of the building expressed by index EP
This group, which refers to a single module and is related to the issue of the energy certification of the building. The main objective of the present regulation is aimed to identify the buildings trough the expected annual energy consumption which will be certified by an official document, the “energy identity certificate”.
The energy performance “EP” index is indicating the value of primary annual energy consumption of the house divided by the building usage area. Its value is expressed in (kWh/m2).
The understanding of this module is very important and it’s at the basis of the whole Enerteach training modules.
