The transnational report on training, employment and professional development opportunities in the long-term care sector and the representation of women in the sector was compiled in the first project phase of the project “ProECEU -Promoting Women's
Enterprising Competences in Europe: Towards the Development of Services to Dependant People”. The expected project outcome was an improvement in the qualification of
female care providers as well as an increased number of female entrepreneurs, of self-employed female care givers and social economy businesses in the partner countries – particularly, in the regions where the ProECEU project activities were implemented. In the long run, the project was expected to have a major impact on the professionalization of the sector and on a decrease of staff recruitment from the black market.
