Marketing Text The EU Women project aimed to encourage female entrepreneurship in Europe by developing an interactive online resource for women interested in self-employment. The materials provided a practical guide to starting a business and address barriers to self employment faced by women. The materials were available in each of the partner languages; English, Romanian, Spanish, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Czech & Italian.
The project involved the development of existing pre-enterprise training resources into a practical and relevant online tool focusing on the needs of women interested in exploring self-employment.
The main stages of project's development include the development of a Needs Analysis, the preparation of the training modules, the creation of an e-learning environment, pilot testing and translation of the modules into all the partner languages.
It is hoped that the EU Women project will be of particular benefit to women who face the greatest pre-enterprise challenges (e.g. women living in rural areas, those with little or no academic qualifications, those with limited access to capital, the long term employed, full-time carers, etc.)
The material developed were made available in each partner language using Moodle e-learning platform.
The Training Modules covered the following topics
1. What is an entrepreneur?
2. Ideas generation
3. Marketing and marketing research
4. Tapping resources and sourcing finance
5. Setting up a business
