Scandinavian Petroleum Technic (SPT) Association wanted to develop a distance learning education via the internet, adressing work at fuel stations and a web-based virtuell meeting point. The main problem being tackled was a low generell education level in our target group with too many accidents because of that. Our transfer of innovation projects focused on the identification of innovative solutions for adaptation and implementation made in Sweden which we wanted to implement and develop to Danish and Norwegian circumstances in the fuel industry sector.
The education is innovative in pedagogics, target group, content, organization and work procedure.
The overall objective is to prevent accidents and to be better prepared when incidents occur -through effective communication quality and competence.
The partnership was SPT, SPI, NP and EOF (Swedish, Norwegian and Danish petroleum institutes) representing the oil companies and their subcontractors.
Outcome should be that at least 80 % of the educated should evaluate the education as good or very good and get their licence. Our goal/ vision is to license everyone who is working in a fuel stations in scandinavia. Transferring knowledge between the countries is making it easier to do transnational projects.
Less accidents and an increasing number of certified workers at the scandinavian fuel stations is the impact envisaged. In our target group licensed skills will then be transferable in to the voctational system and made visible which is new in our sector.
The first few months in the project, we were working with the preparations then the implementation phase. Partners begun to work with its co-financing. Education (filming) took place at fuel stations where students felt at home. We have conducted training with the test groups,seeked feedback (questionnaires and interviews), evaluated and implemented improvements.
We worked with living documents of tasks in the project.
The last phases in the project work, finishing the education and disseminate the results is important trying to influence the target group to be extended. Our partners have/ had a major role in these activities. Gather feedback, evaluate and implement improvements as learning assessment is included in the final evaluation phase.
Steering committee, working group, partners, and teacher jointly exploited the experiences to implement a finished product. The goal to have a finished product ready for use for commercial purposes that can bear their own costs- is achieved.
To evaluate the order to take advantage of project experiences and results, since these represent an important part in the project learningprocess.
Other countries and other sector organisations has shown interest in our results and we are lokking forward to new exiting partnerships in our future educational work.
