iDesigner is a unique internationally accredited qualification and certification program aiming at training transversal skills in product development, and certifying those with an EU-wide recognized certificate.
The main iDesigner target groups are Experienced Design Engineers, Product and System Architects, Development Project Managers, as well as Researchers working with industry.
Designing modern products and systems in an innovative, sustainable and competitive way demands the implementation of new paradigms in development organisations.
Design is no longer concentrated on a specific phase. It goes beyond aesthetics to cover all functional aspects of a product or a system, thus driving the entire development process. Consequently, more and more actors of the complete product life-cycle have to be integrated in the design process. This creates new challenges for design engineers, as well as for development project managers.
This training program addresses exactly these challenges, and provides answers to the following subjects:

iDesigner is an e-Learning enabled training course, available in five different languages (English, French, German, Polish, Romanian) and fully integrated in the e-Learning Portal of the ECQA (www.ecqa.org). The training is delivered on-site, remotely via e-Learning, or in blended form, i.e., partly on-site and partly via e-Learning facilities.
Multimedia course material has been created for the best learning experience. Each unit is focused on principles and requires approximately two or three hours of work. Learning the principles is complemented by their practical application in exercises based on examples and case-studies (approximately one hour per exercise). These exercises are discussed in small groups (on-site and/or via modern telecommunication facilities and electronic forum), allowing participants to learn from each other, and from the trainers.
Participants who pass the ECQA exam for the ECQA Certified Design Engineer successfully, will be able to justify their skills with a Europe-wide, market recognised certificate. This will give them a competitive advantage in their professional career and on the job market.
Training, examination and certification can be done in a modular fashion, i.e., candidates may be trained and certified for certain elements only. This allows them to obtain the complete certification gradually in the course of their professional career.
