Marketing Text This Leonardo-funded Transfer of Innovation project aimed to build the capacity of third sector organisations in Europe, by delivering accredited training for people who manage volunteers.
Target group Interested organisations and individuals.
Result The experience and know-how of each partner was invaluable in the delivery of the project. Each partner had expertise in an area which supported the knowledge and understanding of each of the other partners. For example, the Turkish partner had years of experience of working with volunteers and could enrich the whole training course with alternative examples of good and bad practice and anecdotes around the effective management of volunteers. The UK and Austrian partners had experience of working on European projects in the past and could share good practice tips and inform the partners on processes and practices especially in the area of evidence collection for the final report. All of the partners had training experience that was shared in the trainer training package (WP3) to enrich the training delivery practices of each of the partners. All of the pilot partners also had experience of working with third sector organisations and used their knowledge to reflect on different approaches for the pilot delivery, promotion routes, evaluation processes and dissemination mechanisms which helped to improve the quality of the project overall. The practices of the different countries provided an interesting reflection on the pilot project as the training delivery style and use of the materials was adopted slightly differently by the four pilot countries in order to fit with traditional training approaches in their country. Two of the partners chose to focus on the more formal delivery methods and the other two focused on the more interactive, participative approach introduced in the training. The materials were flexible enough to support a scale of training delivery and encouraged a mix of styles which was used effectively by all of the partners.
