Marketing Text Qualitativ hochwertige europäische Ausbildungsstandards als Grundlage sicherer und effizienter Motorsägenarbeit
The rationale behind this project was the development of a common set of training and assessment standards for chainsaw operators which has been successfully achieved. Accidents, fatalities and associated economic & personal costs related to chainsaw use are too high and will be significantly reduced via the implementation of these new standards which will be, monitored & updated on a regular basis.
Following initial analysis and comparison of training programmes in some partner countries where national training standards did not exist (e.g. Spain, Denmark, Holland & Belgium). The UK national chainsaw training & assessment standards were also evaluated prior to further developments of new standards to the benefit of all partners.
High quality European/International training standards and an associated competence assessment should lead to an incremental reduction in accidents and fatalities of chainsaw operators throughout Europe and beyond as Chainsaw Standards are implemented between countries. A better vocational skills base will add value to the economy of the EU and partner countries.
Skills & competencies have been transferred between participating countries (not only the project partners) both during and after the project. By the completion of the project 18 different countries had registered and/or participated with association in the project.
Target groups the project is having an impact upon are foresters, arborists, landscapers (land-based sector) & other industry sectors such as construction and emergency service operators, which use chainsaws within their employment.
Description The project nucleus consisted of the development of a common set of training and assessment standards for chainsaw operators to be implemented through an accredited network of national awarding bodies. Standards were successfully developed following research, testing and consultation phases culminating in clearly designed and logically formatted user friendly learning outcomes. This was further supported in the production of accreditation guidance and other training & assessment materials for European / International chainsaw.
