The core of the project idea is based on the adaptation problems experienced by the students/design students who have studied in the present (standard/classic) education system, when they focus on the process of design.
The project has double goals and is composed of two stages thereof. The goal of the first stage: “Stage I: Vocational Guidance: Self-evaluation Unit” is to test and develop skills for the pro-professionals, and the goal of the second stage: “Stage II: Educational Guidance: Supportive Unit” is to orient design students to design thinking and improve their problem solving capacities by way of conducive exercises. The far-reaching goal of the project is to render the process of design education feasible and economic in terms of using human resources.
Stage I: “Vocational Guidance”: “Self-evaluation Unit”: To assist in an ability-testing mechanism for design oriented professions within the present educational system is the goal of this stage. In this stage, which was planned to be a self-evaluation examination and which was supposed to be administrated to the users in the electronic settings by e-learning systems; it is aimed to evaluate the responses of the users to design-related concepts and to determine their tendency for design professions.
Stage II: “Educational Guidance”: “Supportive Unit”: It was planned to present this unit as a supporting module in the process of design education. This unit was to be built to make retrieval of information related to design and design concepts fast and easy for the students of design.
Project partners were selected among the institutions of design training, educational and professional unions, and local commercial companies using information and communication technologies, which are responsible for realisation and dissemination of the products. All the partners played active roles in the introduction, application, and valorisation of the project.
Discussion programmes as meetings, seminars, congresses and conferences to make the project disseminated and active were held with the contributions of the partners and target sectors/groups. There obtained benefits from the meetings which were held by the companies defined as partners and from the negotiation of information acquired from these meetings; and due to this, the schools and companies concerned with design had information about the project and the process. The products, which were written and visualised as CD-Roms, handbooks and books that are obtained, were distributed by the means of websites, Leonardo Fairs, Newspapers, TV, radio by using a variety of advertisement techniques. These products were translated into the languages of the partner countries which are the members of the union. The impact of the project was closely observed after it has been put to use and was amended and developed accordingly.

The products that are planned to be written as documents (researches, project reports, contents and extents) were transmitted to the electronic settings application supplies.
Stage I: Vocational Guidance: Self-evaluation Unit shelters an idea to measure and evaluate the background level of pilot students and their skills to design, understand, perceive, and express.
Stage II: Educational Guidance: Supportive Unit supports design education, and it includes design techniques (tools, means and the existing design methods) and a library for terminology (art and design terminology, general and basic information on design, art and design. So the main DESIGNTRAIN products are:

7. DESIGNTRAIN CONGRESS PROCEEDINGS: Two congresses were organized during the project in order to gather various researchers together, to share the improvements in design training, and to discuss the specific issues for design training and further improvement of training. Declarations presented in the congresses were published into two proceedings as specific products of these congresses. These include:
