Title MITS-Mechatronica: Modular Interactive Training System for vocational and distance training in Mechatronics
Project Number B/04/B/F/PP-144.334
Project Type Pilot Project, project with multiplying effect (2000-2006)
Marketing Text A development framework and accompanying e-learning units based on this framework in the Mechatronics domain adapted to technical vocational education.
The cooperation between industry, schools and a research centre in this project led to a framework for developing e-learning content for vocational education and generated at the same time ready usable e-learning units based on this framework in the field of Mechatronics.
This framework, the ‘MITS-methodology’, consists of guidelines for developers to generate e-learning content as ‘learning atoms’. The innovative aspects of these learning atoms lie in the fact that they are searchable, combinable, updateable, self-contained and implement a learning-by-doing approach.
Based on this framework 11 learning atoms have been generated addressing introductory topics into Mechatronics, 18 learning atoms where developed about Computer Aided Process Planning and 8 new plus 6 adapted learning atoms cover topics in the field of Numerical Controlled Machining Centres. All these learning atoms are available in Dutch, English, German, Spanish and Hungarian.
