Marketing Text This project opened up the business advisory profession to people who work at a community level with groups who have experienced social exclusion. It aims were to export and adapt a manual developed in the UK to assist community based business advisors to become professionally accredited. It helped to ensure that the entrepreneurial option is open to all.
Summary The overall aim of this project was to promote entrepreneurship in communities at risk of exclusion in the labour market. It specific aim was to do this by exporting a manual which was developed in the UK to enable people from communities which have experienced social exclusion to develop and demonstrate their competence as professional business advisors.
Description The ACBBA/SFEDI self-study manual promoted the transfer and recognition of the qualification and competencies for business advisors at a community level both within the UK and through the Leonardo partnership in 4 European countries. SFEDI is the lead partner and UK recognised standard setting for business enterprise and business support in the UK.

Product information The manual were translated into Spanish, German, Czech and Portuguese and adapted for local circumstances. A database of EU Countries relevant vocational qualifications and accrediting bodies were developed and a further one included data on excluded entrepreneurs and the training and development of business advisors . Case studies were developed on entrepreneurs and business advisors.
