Knowledge of foreign languages is a key element for good employability. New Technologies can make the language learning process more user friendly and enjoyable. The ELS @ WORK project trough the promotion of the ELS portal gives to the students the opportunity to use multimedia tool for Language learning and to the teachers the skills to use teaching strategies and material that are based on an effective application of new technologies.
La conoscenza delle lingue straniere è un fattore chiave per l’inserimento nel mondo del lavoro. Grazie alle Nuove Tecnologie è adesso possibile apprendere le lingue straniere attraverso modalità divertenti e coinvolgenti che simulano la realtà attraverso giochi di ruolo. Il progetto ELS @ WORK attraverso la promozione del portale ELS offre agli studenti la possibilità di utilizzare nuove metodologie di apprendimento interattive basate sulla multimedialità e agli insegnanti l’occasione di acquisire competenze per l’utilizzo di nuovi strumenti disponibili online.
The aim of the ELS @ WORK project is to further develop and foster the use the ELS Portal.
The main activities of the ELS @ WORK project are:
- improvement of the quality of the existing language learning traning courses (English, French, Italian and Spanish)
- development of a fith online language course for the German language
- promote the use of the ELS portal in at least 200 organisations
The “ELS@Work: New Technology for Language Learning” European project is a successful example of an effective application of ICT (information and communication technologies) in the field of language education and training.
The ELS@Work project is developing an Internet portal (http://www.business-languages.net) for the autonomous learning of 5 different languages in a business context. As an integration to the distance language course, nine different courses on business culture were also developed. The online language learning platform also provide the participants with a synchronous (chat) and an asynchronous (forum) tutoring service.
