Project Number SE/05C/TH-82601
Project Type Thematic Action (2000-2006)
This Leonardo da Vinci thematic action is part of the plan to achieve some form of consensus that all the professionals involved in any APEL process in Europe need to benefit from initial and/or continuing training if the Lisbon objectives are to be achieved. The cornerstones that have formed the foundation of our project are
The principles underpinning APEL, i.e. that all European citizens should be able to have their ongoing learning recognised and certified if they should so wish.
The European Common Principles, which provide for equality of access, for authenticity and validity thus paving the way for the mutual confidence and trust between each country
The Role of guidance and counselling for APEL, as central to the APEL process both in terms of information, advice and guidance and also for support on an ongoing basis for those citizens who need it
Cultural diversity and mutual learning, are realities that must be taken into consideration when attempting to make learning visible and that this will never be easy !
The range of professionals involved in the APEL process is likely to widen as more countries come on board.
The training provision for professionals involved in APEL needs to be adapted to individual needs and be recognised via APEL.
Recognition, transparency, certification
