The aim of this European Leonardo Da Vinci project is to improve the quality of workplace training in industries in Europe.
The i2i project – Internship to Industry was initiated to address the lack of skilled young workers in technical professions within the industrial branch in Europe.
European mobility is one possibility to increase the competitiveness of enterprises. Foreign work placements are especially well suited to gain international experience and to improve vocational, linguistic and intercultural competences. At the same time, work placements improve the quality of education and the industrial location.
The aim of this European Leonardo Da Vinci project is to improve the quality of work placements in enterprises within the technical industry branch in Europe.
Therefore, within the i2i project useful manuals were developed to secure the whole process of work placement from the preparation to the point of admission of internship. The manuals support schools, companies, exchange organisations, as well as participants.

Within the project three manuals were developed that provide assistance in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of stays abroad. The manuals are available online.
1)Manual for internship coordinators:
This manual helps the coordinator to organise the internship. The internship procedure is presented step by step and different tools are supportive.
2)Manual for internship supervisors:
This manual supports the supervisor at the workplace by giving him/her tools for mentoring the trainee.
3)Manual for internship trainees:
This manual helps the trainee to prepare for the internship abroad.
It contains useful documents such as model contracts, checklists, addresses, etc.
