Marketing Text INPUT - Die Beteiligung der Bevölkerung für Universal Stadt - Planung Leitlinien auf der Grundlage der Universal Design Principles
The objective of the project is to implement Planning Guidelines to be used as a training and self-training tool, to support initiatives that apply the principles of Universal Design to the organization of urban centers.
It is therefore about overcoming both the concept of removing architectural barriers and the principle of accessibility for the disabled, together the object of now-codified regulations
Project INPUT should also take into consideration non-‘material’ or architectural aspects such as schedules, approaches, coordination of public services.
During the first phase will be to collect national and European regulations pertaining to the subject; they will form the base from which the project will take off. At the same time, a “document of principles” will be developed, which will define the project’s direct and indirect objectives.
The second phase of the project will consist basically of data collection on the actual situation and on the main problems to be resolved. The tools will be: interviews with specific experts, local focus groups and a sort of call to competition directed at the public so that problem areas are pointed out and ideas for their resolution are suggested, some of which will be faced during the drafting of the guidelines as a form of experimentation.
The third phase will be dedicated to fine-tuning the Guidelines. The Guidelines will also present a process for the objective self-evaluation of planning outcomes, which will be tested by carrying out the design initiatives in at least three urban areas. The procedures in the Guidelines will be tested and, after any eventual modifications and improvements, will also validate their efficacy as a training tool.
