Title Further Training Model-Specialists in Renewable Energy
Project Number 142432-LLP-1-2008-1-DE-LEONARDO-LMP
Project Type Development of Innovation
Country EU-Centralised Projects
The member countries of the EU have agreed upon ambitious climate protection goals. The EU Buildings Directive defines concrete goals for energy savings and for the use of renewable energies in buildings.
The sanitary, heating and air conditioning crafts operate in a segment that is important for the application of renewable energy sources and energy-saving measures.
To date, the use of renewable energies and energy saving measures has been particulary the result of works effected by engineers. The trades which have installed, serviced and maintained these facilities have had to acquire the necessary technical knowledge largely by limited further education measures, or informally.
To achieve optimal results in efficient energy use, specific measures must be coordinated.
I.e. in particular the tradespeople must know about the complexity of efficient energy use and they should acquire skills in a wider range of the technologies. They need a specialised knowledge and reliable experienced data to meet the requirements of customers.
To date there is no complex model which might provide the trades enterprises with the possibility of viewing their particular services in a complex context, to asses the interaction of various measures and thus to expand their range of services offered.
With the further education model “Experts for renewable energy technologies in the sanitary, heating and air conditioning crafts”, those skills which are oriented toward the economic and technological conditions of the crafts are to be developed and tested. This will help the companies to adjust adequately to future market conditions, and at the same time to contribute to the dissemination of climate protection goals by good examples and customer consulting services.
The further education model was developed in five basic and 5 structure modules.
The results are disseminated as a manual via the common internet platform and also as a further-education model at the regional levels.
Moreover, the participating partners and trade associations are to use their respective trade publications to advertise the further education programmes. Thus a proven model is provided, which will further develop the sustainable and qualitative aspects of the SHK crafts in an essential economic field of the future.
The coordinator draft a rough framework for the modules of the further education model.
The partners were insert their skills into the existing rough framework and identify particular good practice examples from their local/ regional experience.
The experts from the consortium worked out the detailed curriculum for the eight modules.
The partners conducted the regional pilot seminars in Berlin, Hamburg, Plovdiv an Warsaw and evaluated them.
The participating trade associations reach approximatly 3000 enterprises in SHK crafts. It's to be assumed that the trade related public will in the course of the project be provided with information to a high degree, publications by the associations and via the internet platform.
The consortium is to promote network formation at the European level and to advertise to persuade additional national trade associations from the member countries of the EU to join the network.
The manual and the internet platform at a regional level are to be continued after the end of the project, and to be continually upgraded with new technologies and new experiences.

The project achieves the following results:
A complex further education model "Specialists in renewable energy technologies in sanitary, heating and air conditioning crafts" is developed, tested and provided to the European companies specialised in the crafts.
The approx. 3000 member companies of the partner associations are informed about the further education module and can purchase the requisite skills.
The trade associations of other member countries are motivated by the European network to adopt the model and to cooperate in the European network.
Furthermore a manual for renewable energies experts in the SHK crafts is provided.
Our project has built its own internet platform, which provides information about the work of the project, publishes reports on the transnational seminars and the modules of the further education model and also gathers important information on the basic conditions in each country.
